Kori Bustard
Price range: R2,400 through R10,800
“The Stage is Set” ~ As the sun sets and the stage is set, the world’s heaviest flying bird; a Kori Bustard, struts his stuff on the open plains of El Karama Wilderness Conservancy in Kenya.
We spent many late afternoons learning the behaviour of this incredible Kori Bustard, predicting the cloud conditions and working out which angles produced the best images. On this occasion the clouds and light behind the Bustard were more dramatic and intriguing than what was in front of him, making for one of my favourite silhouettes of the trip.
This limited edition image is part of a series called “Iconic African Birdscapes”; focused on showing iconic African landscapes and the birds that call them home.
